Hostmaster simplifies computing site administration by handling DNS (Domain Name Service) services, such as the setup of domain name servers and domain name delegation. Hostmaster makes extensive use of the hindsite DNS/DHCP configuration management system.

Eligibility
Any U of M affiliate interested in the registration of domain names or site managers interested in centralized DNS/DHCP service.

Obtaining Service
U of M affiliates interested in subscribing to the Hostmaster service should send email to hostmaster@umich.edu.

Current Subscribers
Hostmaster is currently in use at all of the University of Michigan Campus Computing Sites.
